Who says you have to wait till you are dead before your biography is published?…..well, not really a biography ‘cos in my case, i still have a lot of exploits to attain but as i turn a year older today, i just thought it would be nice to share a little of my past with you guys but on one condition sha….DONT LAUGH AT MY CHILDHOOD PICTURES…. If we have a deal, then lets go.
I feel bad each time I hear about bomb explosions and killings in the north because that’s where I was born. The ancient city of kano was where I ported into the earth to first. I lived there with my parents and siblings. I did have an elder brother but he passed on shortly after he was born and that’s why my middle name is “Ozoemena” which simply means “may it (death) not happen again”. Once a while I wonder what he’ll look like if he was still alive and how it would feel like to have an elder brother. Oh well, God knows best. Shout out to you elder bro !!!
All my education was in the north, from nursery to primary to secondary to university. After three attempts at JAMB, I finally gained admission into Ahmadu Bello University Zaria via direct entry straight to 200 level. Yes na, when the door refused to open three times, I changed tactics before JAMB go send me “We love you” T-Shirt.
Life on campus was one of the experiences I cherish. As a student of Political Science, it was all about one political theory of karl Marx or one ideology of another philosopher. God was just good to me though.
I finished as the best graduating student in my department while pastoring three different campus fellowships at the same time.
Guys, don’t let anyone deceive you. It pays to serve God.
Ajuwaya came calling and I found myself in kwara. I was posted to serve with the happiest people on earth : Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship Int. At this point, I decided to gradually develop the journalist in me so i became the radio host of kwara corpers and I also developed and became the editor of the leisure page in the herald newspapers which ran every sunday……that reminds me, they are still owing me sef……about N7,000 or so.
I was also privileged to serve as the bible study secretary and publicity secretary of NCCF during the 2003/2004 service year.
Humour !!! I love humour. Boy do I love humour. I even have my own cartoon series. Yep, I’m a cartoonist and my works have been published by BusinessDay, Vanguard, Guardian and Herald Newspapers….they’ll be posted here pretty soon.
Well guys, what can I say, I can’t possibly fit in everything here but believe me when I say that God has been faithful. For over thirty years, He’s delivered me from some terrible stuff, like the time I was framed for exammination malpractice or the several times I escaped religious riots in kano and Zaria far before Boko haram even started or the time he delivered me from the hands of robbers. I’m lost for words.
I wanna deeply appreciate everyone who has been of help to me one way or the other. Thanks for the encouragement and support and especially to you the esteemed reader of my blog. You’re deeply appreciated. In life, we may not be where we want to be but let’s always thank God that we are not where we used to be.
Life is a marathon, it’ll be no use to run it like a 100m dash. You’ll burn out and fall by the way but if you place your hands in God’s hand, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Always be you. Always be original. Remember, if you want to be like somebody else, then who will be like you?
I’ll sign off by saying thanks to every one for the birthday wishes…..by the way I love Toyota SUV’s, Prado 2013 to be precise…..just incase you are led. Hehehehe. Happy birthday to my fellow birthday mates Kunle Osungbesan (Sir K), Tobi Arogundade and Chioma Ibeh. This is definitely our year.
A final thank you to my pastor and mentor, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo and all the wonderful victorious peeps at David’s Christian Centre…..speaking of which, here’s another birthday mate..
I know I’ve earlier said I was about to sign out but the thing taya me sef as I still dey write, however, I feel led to close with this statement like I always do..it’s not just a mere statement but its a prophecy to you and me that no matter what happens, a day of victory will surely come, and it will come to erase all the past years of suffering and toiling. Its a prophecy that I strongly believe and hold on to and honestly it gets me inspired each time I say it ‘cos I know that it will surely come to pass…..”Every man will have his day”.
Happy birthday Johnson !!!
